    Description

Handsome fold-out 1973 Exxon road map of Nashville, printed more than 46 years ago.
The map opens to 25½" x 24" and has great detail on old street and highway alignments, with cartography by the General Drafting Company.
The coverage area extends from Whites Creek to Bakertown, including Donelson, Oak Hill, West Meade, Madison, Inglewood, Belle Meade, and University Center.
Sections of I-40 and I-85 are still under construction, a long stretch of Briley Parkway is shown as "proposed," and there's an inset plan of downtown Nashville, once home to the RCA Studio where Elvis Presley recorded more than 260 songs.
The map was published by Exxon in 1973 and is dated in the legend. It is copyrighted
    © MCMLXXII (1972).
The code number on the back cover is W972.
Artwork on the front cover shows a smiling attendant, two gas pumps, and the company's tiger mascot.
