ANTIQUE CHINESE QING DYNASTY HAND BUILT WOODEN LATTICE CABINET DOOR 11" x 26.5"

Description

This is an antique Chinese Qing Dynasty (c. 1800's) wooden door from a cabinet. It is constructed with
mortise and tenon joinery. The lattice work is very intricately pieced together and tightly fit. The whole piece is most likely made from the
Chinese
yumu
tree (Northern elm)
. You can see in the last picture how this door would have looked in a complete cabinet (an item available in our Portland, Oregon store but not included in this listing). These are often displayed a solitary pieces of art or sculpture or can be incorporated into large displays.
This measures 26 1/2" tall (without the "hinge") by 11" wide by 1" thick (67 x 28 x 2.5 cm). Having been well loved for well over a centuries, with exception of past sing of use and some loose parts (see pictures 10 & 11), overall it remains in
good
condition.
