ANTIQUE CHINESE ROSEOOD HAND CARVED 26" STATUE BUDDHIST GOD OF MERCY KUAN YIN ^

Description

This is an antique Chinese  wooden statue of the Buddhist goddess of mercy, Kwan Yin.
Kuan Yin is the
most commonly used Chinese translation of the bodhisattva known as Avalokiteśvara
. Guanyin is the Buddhist bodhisattva associated with compassion. In the East Asian world, Guanyin is the equivalent term for Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.
This antique Kwan Yin statue measures 26" (66 cm) tall by 12" wide (30 cm). She is made of a very hard Chinese rosewood and aside from a few noticeable cracks in the aged wood (see pictures), she remains in good condition.
