This is an antique Japanese late Taisho Era (c. 1925) wood and rubber name stamp known as an
i
nkan
.
In Japan and China one does not sign, but rather stamp ones name with a chop or inkan like this one. This inkan has the name, Okamoto for a photo studio in Chinese characters.   The actual stamp is made of rubber and mounted on an oval wooden section with a nicely turned wooden handle.
This century old inkan stamp measures 1 3/4" long by 1 1/4" wide (4.8 x 3  cm). This stamp remains overall in
very good condition
,
with a very clear stamp mark as seen my pictures.
