    Description

ALL ORDERS WILL BE SHIPPED SAME OR NEXT DAY AFTER THE ORDER IS PLACED. Completely handmade, glazed and fired by artist Harry Leaf in his Sacramento, CA studio. Part of a butterflies diet includes salt and minerals. Once they find a source for these nutrients they will remember and return for more. Most gardens don't have a readily available supply. That's where a Butterfly Puddler comes in handy. These colorful ceramic garden spikes have a circular depression where a little salt/sand mixture can be deposited. The mixture is poured into the depression and a small spoonful of water is added. When the water evaporates a salty-mineral residue is left over that provides the nutrients the butterflies crave. It is like a salt-lick for butterflies. Each set comes with a small bag of sand-salt mixture to use in the puddler. They also come with an instruction card that explains how to use it. They are made of clay and are approx. 5.5-6.5 inches long. The sale is for a set of two - one is cobalt blue with a light blue center and the other is bright green with a purple center. The actual set you receive will vary slightly as they are handmade and are not reproduce in a mold. As you can see from the picture they make a beautiful colorful addition to any garden and make a great gift for butterfly lovers who will enjoy something different. In the second spike you put a chunk of fruit. The fruit will attract the butterflies and the sand salt mixture will keep them coming back. This sale is for a set of two, a small bag of sand/salt mixture and an instruction card. The last picture shows how a colorful grouping would look in the garden. I ship on the same or next day usually via USPS so it should arrive in approx 2-5 days in the U.S.
