    Description

This is a magnetic holder for the common plastic egg crate (light diffuser) found in every hardware store. The notch on the screw allows for the insertion of the crate and the included screw clamps down on it. The slot is 2mm wide and fits most egg crates commonly found in most hardware stores. The diameter of the screw is 18mm so the egg crate cell needs to be bigger than 9mm (most, if not all, the crates commonly found are bigger than 12mm). The depth of the notch is 20mm which allows for the insertion of the crate and the screw to hold it tight.
The magnets are pre-coated resin neodymium N50 high strength magnets capable of holding on less than 1/2" glass (1/2" will probably work).
    Printed out of PLA.
Allows for holding of the most commonly found egg crates in the hardware store.
The included screw clamps securely down on the crate holding it in place.
Depending on what you want to do, you most likely will want to buy a two pack of these to make sure there is balance and no tip overs. It is left entirely up to your discretion though.
*The egg crate is not included, it's shown for reference.
If no color is specified in the order notes, black will be mailed out by default.
Check my other listings for 3D printed reefing equipment. I will accept reasonable offers for multiple things bought from me.
Clear PLA, i.e. PLA with no color pigmentation added which makes it translucent, is also available. Leave a note with your order that you want "Clear" as color if desired.
    Note
: I offer these in black PETG as well. If you would like that option, please contact me. There will be a 25% increase in price for this material.
Please note that these are 3D printed parts. That means that the surface finish quality of the part will not be directly comparable to an injection molded part. Although not very common, there might be small surface finish defects, or rough spots. The goal is to have a fully functional, as described part. This disadvantage to 3D printing is reflected on my pricing as well. Polished surface finishes, is definitely something that can be achieved to a certain degree with 3D printed parts, but it's a time consuming process, something that definitely cannot be offered for the price range my products go for.
Material Selection: Some arguments have been made about pigmentation in PLA filament and it's effects in water in case of leeching. You can order “Clear (transluscent)” parts which is PLA free of any pigments. Just leave a note in your order that you want "Clear" parts. I have personally used black PLA in my tank for many years with nothing but success. You can also ask for PETG if you are concerned about durability of the PLA part. Just contact me.
If you have a color preference please make sure to put it on the "note to seller" field during checkout. If you do not do that, I
will use the default black color and
I may not be able to honor any request you have after your payment is complete.
