FRISCH’S BIG BOY Northwest Ohio restaurant 1970s coloring book Dolly
This is “Frisch’s Big Boy,” a previously-owned softcover coloring book manufactured by Frisch’s Big Boy in the late 1970s. It’s in pretty good shape with no coloring inside and minimal wear. Of note, there are no coupons included...
Big Boy is a restaurant chain headquartered in Warren, Michigan, though it was started in 1936 by Bob Wian in Glendale, California. The Marriott Corporation bought the chain in 1967, then sold it to Elias Brothers in 1987, who sold it again. The company is best known for its trademark chubby boy in red and white checked overalls holding a Big Boy sandwich (double-decker cheeseburger). Warner Bros. animation artist Ben Washam sketched Richard's caricature, which became the character seen on the company logo.
