Description
The Original Hummingbird Swing started with an idea... If you give hummingbirds a place to perch, close to their feeder - they will not retreat after feeding AND we get to see them more too!IF YOU BUILD A SANCTUARY... THEY WILL COME
Provide the Ideal Perching Spot Close to a Food Source:
Hummingbirds can be creatures of habit and that can be the reason they either use or don't use the swing.
Most important is to place the swing in an ideal perching spot, close to a reliable food source. This is where hummingbirds are most likely to use the swing to keep watch over their feeder!
Be sure feeders are clean and worthy of protection by providing a consistent supply of fresh nectar.Avoid any harmful dyes or additives in your nectar and try to place feeders and swings in a well protected, shaded area to encourage longer perching.
Include a variety of natural nectar sources with wildflowers that are native to your geographical region.
Maintain your yard in a natural way that encourages a healthy diet of insects, providing protein for your hummingbirds.
Offer multiple areas to feed and perch so a variety of wildlife can partake
Build a Sanctuary
There are other factors that contribute to a desirable sanctuary that will keep your hummingbirds perching longer and support a variety of wildlife:
Water is a staple for any sanctuary and needed to support life. Provide a continuous source of fresh water
Offer shelter to retreat from predators and raise young.
A variety of swings and feeders in different areas throughout your yard will encourage additional wildlife and deter bullies.
They will Come

Hummingbird Swing Use FAQ
Place swing in an established feeder's location, this helps hummingbirds initially discover the swing through their excellent recall memory. Move feeder no more than 1 ft away, eye level and parallel with the swing.
Choose an ideal location for both the feeder and the swing that is shaded and well protected where hummingbirds can retreat quickly into a hedge of shelter if needed.
Be sure to clean feeders regularly and keep a steady supply of fresh nectar. This can mean changing nectar daily with persistent heat. Consider choosing a shaded area and filling feeders only 1/2 full to allow more frequent fresh refills!
The more desirable an area, the more likely your hummingbird will become territorial over it and use the swing. Include a variety of feeders and regional flowering plants for the fresh local nectar and insects packed with protein.
You can use the included screw hook to hang your swing or any "s" hook will fit most garden poles.
