I know this because of all the squirrels that visited the feeder we just replaced from the same tree after being in service for 10 years. A picture of that feeder in the the ebay pictures. The feeder has two spacious seats, a nice dining table size and was built to provide protection from predators while they enjoy their meal.
They will eat alone or bring along a friend
and they will sit across from each other. Squirrels take their time to dine eating one corn kernel at a time from the corn cob. They sit in the chairs, reach out with their two front paws and remove one kernel from the corn cob, rip open that kernel and eat the sweat center. They discard the empty kernel shell to the ground below the feeder. When the squirrels finish eating all the kernels off the corn cob, they go looking on the ground below the feeder to find and eat the discarded kernel shells if the
Doves
have not beat them to it.
The squirrels are provided a safe
dining environment
in our feeders from life threatening predators. The design of the feeder such as its high seat backs block an air attack from airborne predators such as owls or hawks. The wide floor base across the bottom of the feeder blocks tree climbing predators such as cats and dogs access to the squirrels in the dining area.
Squirrel food is included in your order.
We include 5 pounds of corn cobs with each shipment and ship to you no freight charges.
Lowes and Home Depot both sell packages of corn cobs specifically for feeding squirrels. Average cost for a 5lb bag is .00.
These feeders are built tough.
We used 3” coated screws to assemble these feeders. We send you two 2 of the same screws to mount this to your tree. These feeders survived two hurricanes. See the picture in ebay of the one we had on the same tree in our backyard for 10 years.
