Description
This is a vintage Japanese late Taisho Era (c. 1920) brass alloy name stamp known as ani
nkan
.
In Japan and China one does not sign, but rather stamp ones name with a chop or inkan like this one. This inkan has a nicely carved
name in kanji (see pictures).
This century old inkan stamp measures 1" long by 1/2" in diameter (2.5 x 1 cm). This stamp remains in
fine condition
,
with a very clear stamp mark as seen my pictures.
