West Point Military Academy Challenge Coin This challenge coin is for the United State Military Academy (USMA), also known as West Point, which develops America's finest U.S. Army Officers. It was originally established as a fort that sits on strategic high ground overlooking the Hudson River, 50 miles north of New York City. It is one of the four U.S. military service academies, established in 1801. Cadets are required to adhere to the Cadet Honor Code, which states that "a cadet will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do." The academy bases a cadet's leadership experience as a development of all three pillars of performance: academics, physical, and military. The academy also fields fifteen men's and nine women's NCAA sports teams.
Its alumni and students are referred to as "The Long Gray Line" and its ranks include two Presidents of the United States (as well as the President of the Confederate States of America), presidents of Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and the Philippines, numerous famous generals, and seventy-six Medal of Honor recipients.
This 1.75" solid antique brass West Point challenge coin displays their official seal in great detail on the front. On the reverse side, this coin has beautiful imagery of Cadets marching at the academy in awesome 3D detail and encircled with the text "United States Military Academy, West Point".
