Item Description :
This is a vintage Japanese pottery ash container (HAIKI for Furo) of Unka ware, which was
made by the 1st class potter, Masataka Ito (1944-)
about 30 years ago.
It's called "HAIKI".  This HAIKI is used for FURO.  Ash is taken out from HAIKI, and then, put them into FURO,
in order to raise temperature of the hot water of a tea kettle (FURO).
The seal of the potter is stamped on the bottom.  The original wooden box with the signature of the potter is also included.
Unka ware had been made in Kyoto prerfecture, Japan, and the 3rd Sohaku Yorigami moved his kiln to Hyogo prefecture, Japan in 2001.
