    This is a vintage Japanese copper lid rest, which is used for tea ceremony.  It's called "Futaoki".
    This is made of copper.  A seashell is molded. This was made
    about 30 years ago.
    The original wooden box with the signature of the artisan is also included.
    Futaoki is used to put a lid of kettle or MIZUSASHI (water container) on it. Futaoki is one of essential item for tea ceremony or tea party.
